Happy New Year!!

New Year's Eve.  Where did this year go?  I can't believe it is the end of December and end of 2012.  So many things happened this year.
  • Started my first sewing projects, blankets and quiet books in January
  •  Made E a valentines shirt and my sister in law L had her 1st baby
  • Celebrated D's 29th birthday and D and I went to Boston for AAA with all D's classmates in March
  • We found renters for our Beaumont house and I found out I was pregnant in April
  • Quit my job, got a Kindle Fire for Mother's Day, moved to Amarillo, and went on a road trip to WY and UT in May
  • D started his internship with Dr. O and little E turned 2!!! in June
  • E and I went to NV and UT for my cousins wedding with my parents in July
  • Found out we are having a BOY and I turned 26 in August
  • D's parents came to visit, we went to the State Fair and my sister A had her 2nd baby  in September
  • E got to be Nemo for Halloween in October
  • 1st year to not go home for Thanksgiving in November
  • Gave birth to our little boy w/out an epidural and had an amazing Christmas in December
There is a lot to be thankful for this year.  May next year be just as great as this year!  I know 2013 holds some great changes for us.  D will be graduating in May, E will turn 3 and little brother will turn 1 among other things.  But we will enjoy each day as they come and not rush time, because lets face it. Little brother and E are already growing too fast for me.

Now, as if this post wasn't long enough my resolutions for 2013
  • Be more attentive to both my kids and more patient with E
  • Potty train E
  • Love to enjoy "the moment" more often
  • Talk to my family more often
  • See my family more often
That is a start, I may add more if I need to.

Church

Little brother went to church today for the first time.  He looked so handsome in his little tie onsie that a friend made for us.  Unfortunately, he was wrapped up in his blanket almost the whole time, so noone really saw it...except i did show it to the friend who gave it to us. He was a good boy at church.  Like I would think otherwise?  He acted just like he did at home.  Sleep, eat, sleep eat. No crying unless he was hungry.  Sometimes I have to wonder how I got so lucky to get such a good baby?  But then I remember how it was with E and think, good I needed a break after her.  But dont worry, I love E too death to and wouldn't change a thing about her.

Brother/Sister Love

E loves her brother.  Probably because he still sleeps all day and he doesn't steal her toys yet.

But it could be because he is the cutest baby brother ever :)

I love capturing moments like this

And this.  Hopefully she will always love him as much as she does now.

spoiled little princess

After getting home we still had a few presents that were too big to bring in the car.  E got this huge barbie set from my parents.  She loves her princess barbies.  Her favorite thing to do with them is undress them so she can "give them a shower"  She knows all their names and which dress belongs to each one, even though she hasn't seen all their movies yet.

A view of some of her gifts

I think that of this set, Brave, is her favorite. She asks every day to watch it.  But she calls it Princess Movie.

A shot of all her gifts...a little overboard, but we sacrificed gifts to each other this year and just got E things.  Plus grandparents bought her some it :P

E loved the princess themed Christmas.  And it gives her new things to do, so she isn't so bored.  Who knows maybe a Princess themed birthday will be this year :)

That was one happy girl!!

2nd snow

It snowed a lot on Christmas day.  And after our long trip back we didn't make it outside to play in it until today.  But E was super excited to go play in the snow again.  She was really excited to wear her new "picable me" hat.  (note the bandaide on her face...it has been over a month and she won't stop picking at that sore by her mouth and hence it won't go away.)

There was even more snow this time than at the beginning of the month.  But still not quite enough for a snowman.  Plus I was holding a sleeping 2 week old baby...couldn't really help sweets build a snowman.

But that didn't stop little E from scooping up snow

making a ball

and throwing it.

This little one really likes the snow.  Maybe if it snows again we will get her real snow gloves so her hands don't get wet and freeze :)

Icy roads

D had to go back to work on Dec 26th, so we took off for Amarillo, around 2 pm Christmas Day. Just before hitting Dallas we started noticing cars headed Southbound had snow on the cars. We knew then we were in trouble. Just N of Dallas there was lots of snow on the sides of the road and a little ice on the road. We stopped in Decatur for gas and to feed little brother, who is an excellent car rider, when D got back in the car he told me that we might need to get a Hotel in Witcata Falls another hour down the road. I said that is fine, I know I dont want to drive in the ice, and it was my turn to drive. So we strap everyone back in and get back on 287. As we are on the ramp trying to get back on 287 the cars wheels are just spinning and not progressing because there was so much ice, they couldn't get enough traction. I looked at D and said we might need to spend the night here, it was already getting dark, and I didn't want to drive an hour in the dark with so much ice on the roads. Not to mention all the cars we saw in the ditch or skidding across all 4 lanes and the median. It was pretty scary out there.
We found a hotel at the next exit and got a room. Now it was Christmas Day and about 6 pm and I was starving, thankfully there was an IHOP across the street that was open and we got to eat dinner. D still needed to be back at work at 1 pm the next day so we still had to get up around 6 and left at 7:30 when the sun came out to see the ice.
The roads were horrible. There were two skinny trails on the right lane made from other cars tires and the rest of the road was a sheet of ice. We could of ice skated home faster... There were times we weren't even going 20 mph because of the conditions. And we saw abandioned cars all over the place, probably from the night before. I am so glad we waited till daylight to finish the drive. The only time the roads cleared up were in cities, in between the cities however, was covered in ice and snow. About two hours outside Amarillo, the roads finally cleared up and I took over driving the rest of the trip.

E and little brother were amazing troupers in the car this trip. Little brother slept the whole time unless he needed to eat. and E just looked out the window, played on the kindle and slept. They are so good in the car, its amazing. I am so grateful for our safety on our trip and that we were able to make it home in time for D to get to work. I am grateful for the time we spent with both our families as we celebrated the birth of our Savior. I am grateful for my two kids and loving husband. Oh and by the way, today little brother is 3 weeks old!!! Where did the time go?

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas!!
This year Santa left a bundle of stuffed animals for the kids!!  E got Elmo, Cookie Monster, Nemo, and an Owl stuffed animals.  Along with headbands, finger puppets, and candy.  Little brother got an Elephant that sings Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.  I think E likes the Elephant more than brother, but that will change :)  E seemed really excited with her Santa presents.

Little Brother iwth his stocking and Elephant.  Its the one of two gifts he got this year, he also got a bouncer seat from G and G Denton.  He will get more gifts next year when he is bigger.

Oops...little brother fell over in his photo shoot, but now you can see his cute little Santa bum :)  And his bink fell between his legs too.

E really loved her Christmas morning.  She had a blast this year opening up gifts. She actually took quite a while because she would play with her new toy for a while before ripping open the next one.  I just love how happy she is with all of her gifts.

Her cousins, M, A, and D got these cool motorized bikes for Christmas, and E enjoyed climbing up on them.

Daddy painted E 8 princesses and put them in a box for E to play with.  It was a special present and she loves it.  The princesses were: Merida, Jasmine, Ariel, Cinderella, Auroa, Snow White, Tiana, and Rapunzel

Grandpa got good cuddles in with little brother while everyone was opening presents

This year must of been a princess year for our little princess :)  She got a Little People Princess Castle.  It was just right for her to put her new princesses that daddy made onto.  She was the most excited with this one.

She couldn't wait to start playing with it, even before daddy assembled it.

Litte miss loves her movies, and one movie she asks to watch alot of is Despicable Me.   So when I found a friend who made this hat, I just had to get it for her.  She wore it around all day Christmas.

The Joe Cahill Family

E enjoyed all the desserts and candy around on Christmas.  Everytime I turned a corner she was eating someones candy or pie...but I let her because it was Christmas.  Here is Aunt R feeding her some pie.

Family photo shoot

Just the brothers, in their typical style

We had a great Christmas, full of fun and joy.  Thank you to all those who helped make this day a special day.  Merry Christmas!

Christmas Eve

Grandma C gets all the grandkids pjs for Christmas Eve. This year, E got the cutest Hello Kitty nightgown. I love the way it is so long on her. When her hair is done up in one ponytail on top of her head, she looks like Cindy Loo Who from The Grinch who stole Christmas.

This year, we were supposed to do Christmas at our own house because little brother wasn't due until Dec 14.  Since he was born on Dec 5, and my parents decided to go to OR to visit my grandparents, we made a last minute trip to Groesbeck.  I had planned a special movie night with Polar Express and hot chocolate.  Due the chaos of the whole Cahill Family, E didn't get to open Polar Express until almost 8 pm Christmas Eve.  So we didn't do the hot chocolate, but we watched about half the movie.

She was super excited to get to open another gift and for it to be a movie.  This little girl is a TV Junkie....if I let her :)

She wanted to open it right then, good thing it was time to watch it.

Merry Christmas!  Hope everyone had a great Christmas Eve and Christmas this year!

Christmas Eve Eve with the Denton's

Grandma and Grandpa Denton were flying up to Oregon to visit my grandmother, who is sick, for Christmas.  So we decided to drive down and visit them on Sunday December 23rd and let them meet our sweet little one

It was a wonderful visit.  My mom made my favorite foods including a coconut cream pie, which was scrumptious.  And mom and dad took turns cuddling with their newest grandson.  (Who loves being snuggled :)

Loren and Maggie also came up, didn't catch them on camera...oops.  But Josh decided he needed to take an afternoon nap in the blue chair.

We loved our visit with my parents and can't wait to see them again soon.

2 weeks old

Somehow my little bug is 2 weeks old.  And since this is my blog I am going to post as often about him as I want.  :)
He has already up to 8 lbs 11 ozs!
Not sure where the two weeks went, but I love, love, love every moment of being with him.  He is a real joy.  He is a quiet little baby.  He is awake a little more often now and wants to be held all the time, which I have no problem with :)  I love kissing his fuzzy little head and looking into his blue eyes.  He only wants to sleep in bed with us, which makes for good snuggle time, but I am working on making him sleep in the swing or bassinet a little more often.

The boy got a new bouncer seat for Christmas from his G and G Denton. He isn't sure what to think of it yet but E loves to climb in it too :)

Doesn't he have the cutest little lips you have ever seen??
