Motorcycles

I hate motorcycles. They are dangerous. I was on my way home today and there was a motorcycle in front of me going 30 in a 45. I was irratated. I had a long day, my back hurt, I still needed to get home, pack, eat, and drive to Lafayette and this bozo was going slow. So I did what anyone would do. I went into the right lane to pass him. Well I guess he finally realized that he was going slow and should get over for me at the same time that I got over. And he hit his brakes while changing lanes. Forcing me to slam on my brakes. I mean, I didn't need a pancake on my hands here. Thank goodness, some sort of wisdom popped in his head at that moment and he went back to the left lane so I could get the heck away from him.

Isn't the point of a motorcycle to go fast? I guess this guy didn't get the memo. Hope he learns to drive soon.

Developments

So E is now 7 1/2 months. She can crawl. Not the lopsided crawl as previously shown either. On top of this she can pull herself up in standing position. She loves to do so on my legs. She also likes to hold onto the gate at scream at me while I am in the kitchen at work. It is beautiful to hear.
She has four teeth. With these four teeth she grinds and grinds till my ears hurt. It is like fingernails on a chalkboard...what am I to do?

She is very demanding. If the spoon doesn't get into her mouth soon enough while eating, she lets out an ear piercing scream like death is imminent if she is not fed that instant. How do you show a 7 month old baby that behavior is not acceptable. :)Oh and last but not least.
She now sleeps through the night. Most nights. If she wakes up after 6 am, I will get her and feed her before work. That is the nice thing to do right? Not anymore.

This morning, she woke up at 5 and cried off and on. I had a bad night anyway for some reason. (I think I need sleeping pills, I wake up every hour). Anyway, I ignored her till 5:50. At which point I said "D, go get her and I will feed her." He complained saying she would cry herself back to sleep. I disagreed. So he went to get her like the great husband he is. I fed her in 10 min.

Did she go back to sleep like normal? No. Did she lie in bed with us and cuddle? No. Did she scream and fuss and kick until I put her on the floor to play? Yes. But that only lasted a few minutes. Then she tried to stand up. She had a sleeper on and we have a slippery floor. What happens when you have no balance, are learning to stand and stand on a slippery floor in a sleeper? You fall and hit your head and scream bloody murder.
Yeah that was my morning. Then I had to go to work.

So, moral of the story? Leave baby in bed till time to go to work and feed her there, she will survive.

I love my baby. Maybe one day I will get to sleep later than 5 am. Maybe not. Who knows.

Sweet Dreams Baby

So if you know me, I mean really know me. You know that I have the craziest dreams out there. Outlandish dreams really. And when I wake up I remember every single weird detail there is. But not always the ones that connect the weird ones together. So with that being said, you have been warned, you may not want to read further. And baby may you be blessed with normal dreams and not my mind rocking craziness.

"We (a bunch of people including David and my family) were in a large warehouse. There were lists on the walls with gifts that kids wanted at Christmas, we were to sort through stuff and get it ready. But for some reason no one was working. I kept trying to get something done, but everyone was milling about and then leaving. To leave, they had to get on a moving conveyor belt and then hop onto a train that was moving kinda fast and already full. After most people had left, an old friend that I haven't seen in 15 years popped up, walked over to me and asked my name. I said "Andrea Cahill". He said "Oh I thought you were someone else." And he walked away. I was flabbergasted that he didn't remember me. Oh well, no biggie now.
So I round up my mom and David and let them know it was time to go. So we hop on the conveyor belt and are looking for a spot to jump on the train at. My mom is fretting over where to put her bag and I calm her down saying there were bins up top to do so. I was fretting over how to get from the belt to the never-ending and never-stopping train. Suddenly before we can get on the train finds it's end and it is gone. I am so shocked over this I didn't notice that the conveyor belt was also coming to an end, however my lovely husband and mother saw the place to jump onto a platform and neglected to tell me. So I get sucked to the end and before I can say or do anything, the conveyor belt movement is reversed and I am being flung backwards at a super fast speed. I try screaming for David once, twice, and a third time as I am flung backwards. I am going to fast to grab onto anything. Suddenly the building is gone behind me and there is just wide open sky. At which point I fly off the edge and wake up."

Okay now that I am paranoid of trains and conveyor belts for life. Lets jump into reality. I wake up and hear a train on the tracks somewhat near my house. In fact my house is sandwiched between two train tracks, Phelan and College. Great.

And to top it all off, today is one of two days to sleep in. Plus it is Stake Conference, so church starts an hour later than normal.

Dreams suck.

Hope your life is full of beautiful dreams of angels and ponies.

Love,
Mommy

4 teeth

So last Sunday, Jan 20th, we were sitting in Sacrament and noticed E had a new tooth on top. Of course I was thrilled. This tooth meant many things
1. I now know why she has been so slobbery
2. She would have a funny smile with two teeth on bottom and one on top
3. Nursing may not be an option if she chose to bite

However she did pretty good nursing still so I will keep it up as long as she allows me to.

Then Friday, Jan 25, D calls me and says that E has another top tooth, her "partner" front tooth.

So I don't have to worry about funky smiles.

However now she is biting when nursing, eating off a spoon or drinking a bottle. What do I do now?

By the way, what other 7 month baby has 4 teeth! crazy!

baby E crawling

Let be known in all the world, E is on the move. Not very fast, and maybe a little crookedly, but she will get better, lets hope :)

She has moved past her fears and crawled to get a toy she wanted.

Notice however that she has inherited mommy's long arms and did not crawl all the way to the toys, but only until she could reach out and grab them without toppling over.

So now with the newly developed full on crawl and not just the booty scoot, we need to be better about cleaning...great. Any volunteers to help?

I found her eating cords and paper last night. lovely.

And I found some shiny silver paper in her diaper...hmm guess I know what my daughter has been eating and why she is refusing her bottles.

I love you baby,

Mommy
