9 months

Little man has reached 9 months and has accomplished a lot in this time :)
As always he is the joy in our lives and brightens up every day.  His ability to move and eat more foods is exciting to watch.  I really miss having my little tiny baby though and wish they didn't grow up so fast! He has two lonely teeth on the bottom and they are just plain adorable.  As he developed his crawling skills he always has a toy in hand, typically a ball.  He is still our good natured kid, hardly ever cries, except at night of course.  We can't seem to get him to sleep through the night :(

E's first day of Preschool

I can't believe that the time is already here for my sweets to go to preschool.  But lets back up just a little bit.  Last February I started babysitting some kids.  They had a little boy who is E's age and a 7 yr old girl.  E knew that the 7 yr old went to school and in May the 3 yr old boy started going to a Montessori School.  E kept asking me where the kids were when we went to babysit, and I would tell her they were at school.  She was sad that she couldn't go to.  So we enrolled her into a local preschool that a lot of people reccommended.

Last week we bought her her Tangled lunch kit and we already had her back pack.  She was so excited to get to use them.  On Monday night she picked out her outfit to wear to school.  Tuesday morning she slept in a little late, so she didn't eat much of her breakfast, but she was so excited to get dressed and told me that she wanted her hair in one ponytail so it wouldn't be in her eyes.

As we pulled into the parking lot of her school, she asked Daddy to carry her in and I carried baby brother.  We walked to her classroom and she got really shy, she didn't want us to leave. But then her teacher, Miss Billee, said they had donuts and she got busy coloring while we snuck out the door.

When I went to pick her up, she ran up to me and gave me a big hug!  Miss Billee said she had a great day.  She said she didn't eat much for lunch and she was an awesome colorer.  That's my girl!  I looked in her lunchkit at home and she only ate the cookie and fruit loops.  I guess that is what happens when you don't have a mom telling you to eat your sandwich first.  ;)

I asked her about her day and this is what she said:
  • We got to color
  • We walked in a line and I put my hands on the girls shoulder
  • I made friends, (me: "what are their names?") I don't know
  • (Me: "did you learn your abc's?") Yes, the letter E
  • (Me: "Did you learn your numbers?")  Yes I told you already, E
  • (Me: "What was your favorite part?") Playing with blocks and Duploes
  • (Me: "What part did you not like?")  I liked all of it
  • (Me: "Did you miss me and baby brother?")  Yes and Dadda

After she got home I put together dinner, fed baby brother and then went to meet a friend at the pool.  We had lots of fun swimming for an hour.  Then we came back, got dressed and hopped in the car to pick up Daddy.  After picking up daddy, (around 5:30) E said I'm tired, I'm going to take a nap.  And within a few minutes she was out.  It was a good thing we had a few errands to run.  But when we did get home just after 6 she was still out cold.  Daddy carried her up to the top of the stairs and had to set her down to open the door.  She collapsed on the ground outside our apartment and wouldn't budge.  Daddy went back out to get her and laid her down in her bed.
She slept till about 3 am. She woke me up saying she had to go potty. Then she needed a drink.  Then I scooped her up to put her back in bed and she said in her small tired voice, "I love you so much momma"  Oh that just melted my heart at 3 am.  I love her so much too!
Naturally she couldn't go back to sleep in her bed so she climbed in bed with us, and for once I didn't mind.  She slept till 8:30 am.

That was one tired girl!

Hopefully she continues to love school so much!
